Char Siew (Roasted Pork)

This is a recipe come with the wok that I buy before. Actual it’s used pork belly in the original recipe, but I feel that the muscle part may more suitable for it. May be you can tell the pork seller that you want to make Char Siew and ask them choose the better part of pork for you.

Ingredients:
1 catty Pork (muscle part)
1½ Garlic(crushed)
2 to 3 teaspoons Mixed Spices Powder

Seasoning:
2 Tablespoons Oyster Sauce
1 Teaspoon Thick Soya Sauce
½ Teaspoon Salt
1½ Tablespoons Sugar

Method:
1.       Mix all Ingredients together with seasoning and marinate for 1 hour. Cook for 15 minutes with middle heat and cover it, then open up the cover and continue to cook until the sauce is sticky or syrupy.
2.       Take out and allow cooling. Cut into serving pieces.

Note:
1.       It can be done by using the oven. Turn the oven to the grill method and grill for 15minutes.
2.       Add 1 tablespoon honey to the seasoning sauce and apply it on the pork then put back to the oven to heat up for 10 minutes.
3.       Apply again the seasoning sauce on the pork, and put back again to the oven for 10 minutes. Repeating this step until all the seasonings have been used.
4.       Take out and allow cooling then cut into serving pieces.
5.       For those don’t like the sweet taste may reduce the usage of sugar when marinate the meat. And for those friends using the brown sugar, it is not necessary to reduce the sugar because the brown sugar already less sweeteners than the white sugar.

The char siew just came out from the oven
Can't differentiate which are char siews and which are siew baks
